Drama Therapy Is…

“The intentional use of drama and/or theater processes to achieve therapeutic goals. Drama Therapy is an embodied practice that is active and experiential. This approach can provide context for participants to tell their stories, set goals and solve problems, express feelings, or achieve catharsis. Through drama, the depth and breadth of inner experience can be actively explored and interpersonal relationship skills can be enhanced.”

Drama Therapy
Imagination & Action Collide

Welcome!

My mission is to provide quality, enriching therapeutic arts experiences that bring meaning to the lives of others.
I believe when we are given space to process creatively, parts of ourselves are discovered leading to personal growth and intentional transformation.  At the heart of my practice, I believe the creative arts therapies provide a tangible way to safely examine and process life’s hardships and obstacles.

I specialize in Drama Therapy which offers tools and resources to acknowledge the past, to breathe in the present moment, and imagine the possibilities to move forward into the future.

Drama Therapy integrates theatre techniques and theories of psychotherapy/psychology to enhance mental and emotional health. Drama Therapy is rooted in the place where our imaginations and actions collide. Through drama therapy, we can find moments to authentically lean into our imaginations; rising up with invaluable insight on a personal level. There are moments in our lives when we feel stuck and rigid. We may feel we do not yet have the language to verbalize or the tools to cope with and process our experiences. Our bodies and minds are deeply and intricately connected. Processing our thoughts and feelings through an action-oriented therapy method may offer a key to unlocking a part of the heart that has yet to be nurtured.
